BLUE GEMS | OUR HISTORY
Blue Gems is a Sri Lankan jewellery house built around the character of natural gemstones. Our story began in Kandy and has grown through careful sourcing, considered craft and a warm, personal service.
Blue Gems (Pvt) Ltd was established in 2013 at The City Plaza Shopping Complex in Kandy. From the start, the focus was simple: select beautiful stones, shape them with care and create jewellery that feels personal and lasting.
In 2014, Blue Gems entered the tourism industry through The Deer Park Hotel in Giritale. Meeting travellers from around the world helped us share the story of Sri Lankan gemstones directly, while learning how to make every consultation feel effortless and memorable.
Our work balances heritage and contemporary design. We source natural gemstones for their colour, character and potential, then pair them with proportion, setting and finish that lets each stone lead. Engagement rings, wedding bands, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pendants and custom pieces are made with the same attention to detail.
As Blue Gems developed, our reach expanded beyond Sri Lanka. Blue Pendulum is the official export brand under the parent company, created to serve international clients and bring the same standard of craftsmanship to a wider audience.
Today we continue to welcome clients through our hospitality partners, including Cinnamon Citadel, Hotel Sigiriya, Queensbury City Hotel and Queenswood Cottage. Whether a client is choosing a first gemstone or commissioning a meaningful piece, our role is to offer clear guidance, honest disclosure and a personal experience.
